Ocean Ridge model homes open in July

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Two new Ocean Ridge model homes were just completed in the neighborhoods of Waterbrook Woods and Barrington Estates.  Both homes reflect the high architectural standards that are a trademark of the Ocean Ridge community.  Outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail, combined with distinct features, are evident in the new Nottingham and Bentonville model homes. The Waterbrook Woods’ Nottingham is now available for purchase under a popular, but limited-time, leaseback opportunity.  Furnishings and decor will be provided by R. Richardson Interiors  and both homes will be open in July for open house tours.

Ocean Ridge Plantation Golf Course Ranked by Golf Week Magazine

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Leopard’s Chase, which opened in 2007 as one of the premier golf courses at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Sunset Beach in the southern coastal tip of North Carolina, will be included in the top 100 rankings for public access golf courses in the nation in an upcoming issue of Golf Week magazine.

Leopard’s Chase was the only coastal course ranked for the state and, after two years of being ranked 4th, is still listed in the top five courses in North Carolina.  The 72-par modern course, with classic touches, is one of the award-winning four Big Cats courses open at Ocean Ridge.  It reflects the true craftsmanship of designer Tim Cates’ natural style, with one of its distinguishing features being the significant number of holes which require a short carry over water and tidal marshes.  Leopard’s Chase, bountiful with native grasses and plantings, provides a very visual experience for golfers, including hints at each tee box about what to expect next.

In conjunction with the other Big Cats courses, Lion’s Paw, Panther’s Run and Tiger’s Eye, Ocean Ridge offers a total of 72 holes for golfers.

The Coastal Companies®, the parent company of builder Mark Saunders Luxury Homes and developer of the Ocean Ridge Plantation community, is proud to announce the feature home in Waterbrook Woods received the Diamond Award during the 2009 Parade of Homes.

The Diamond Award is the highest honor presented by the Brunswick County Home Builders Association and is chosen by an independent panel of judges. Over 31 homes covering all corners of Brunswick County from Leland and Southport to Calabash and even Bald Head Island were open for tours.

“The Diamond Award represents acknowledgment of the quality of detailed craftsmanship our extraordinarily talented team displays,” said Mark Saunders, president of Mark Saunders Luxury Homes. “It’s an honor to receive this recognition.”

The Waterbrook Woods feature home at Ocean Ridge earned this prestigious award in part due to the impressive attention to detail that all Mark Saunders homes are known for. This magnificent home built for the Griffin family integrates the very best of Ocean Ridge home design with elements that are distinctly coastal. Offering popular one level living, this house is complete with a spacious owner’s suite and spa-like bath, expansive great room with fireplace and media center that opens to a chef’s kitchen, outdoor covered sitting porch, and exquisite architectural details.

The Waterbrook Woods feature home was not the only award winner at Ocean Ridge this year. All four of the Diamond Award winners for the 2009 Parade of Homes are located in Ocean Ridge. Four separate pricing categories, four 1st place homes… a sweep for Ocean Ridge! Ocean Ridge offers some of the most extraordinary values to own a beautiful home in a beautiful amenity community on the entire east coast.

Ocean Ridge Plantation is southeastern North Carolina’s most exclusive and luxurious beach and golf community and has already been an award winner in the past earning such accolades as “Best Places To Retire” by Where To Retire Magazine.
